ANNOUNCEMENT PDF Print E-mail
Written by Sportsplex News Service

The Greensboro Sportsplex is scheduled to be closed for the entire month of September '09 for facility renovations. The planned renovations are as follows;

All new ceiling light fixtures in-side the gym. These new fixtures will generate better lighting and will be set on a timed motion detection system. When an area within the Sportsplex gym is not in use the overhead lights will be timed to be off. They will come on and stay on once an area motion beam has been activated. This system is being up-fitted into every recreational center as well as the Sportsplex and will save the City a great deal of money over the life of the product.

New top-coat sealer on all hardwood floors.

New air conditioning units. As many of you have experienced lately, the Sportsplex is HOT! Yes we know the facility is hot as in exciting but with almost half of our current units either not working or needing major repairs... the Sportsplex is hot as in HOT! These damaged units must be replaced or fixed to keep our facility temperature down to a comfortable athletic environment.

During the major part of the renovation period the Sportsplex will be closed to the general public with the exception of the Rush Fitness Center. A temporary entrance pathway to The Rush from the outside will be constructed. However, when the new lighting system is being installed inside the Rush, it too will be closed. All of the above maintenance and renovations mentioned above has to be done so the Greensboro Sportsplex can continue to provide all of its participants and guests the best sporting and work-out experience on the east coast.
